Meet Martin Scadden, Bridgehead’s Director of Construction Services

What has been your career path to this point?

After initially working in planning and production control positions in the UK, I moved to the Middle East where I held project and corporate planning management positions. After returning to the UK, I moved back into a project planning role with Balfour Beatty. In 2020, I migrated to a consulting business, providing strategic programme and monitoring advice to developers and project stakeholders on a range of commercial, hospitality and residential schemes in London. I joined Bridgehead Consultancy in April this year.

What has been the highlight of your career to date?

After holding senior roles in the Middle East, I think the highlight has been successfully transitioning back into the UK market and ‘climbing back up the ladder’ to my current position with Bridgehead.

What attracted you to the role at Bridgehead?

Our Managing Director Ken Erskine’s vision, and the opportunities to grow the business that are provided by our position within the Munnelly Group.

What does your job involve on a day-to-day basis?

My role involves business development, preparing proposals, finding and managing resources, and monitoring cost and value performance to support the invoicing process, in line with Bridgehead’s annual business plan.
In a nutshell: finding and winning work, doing work, and getting paid for work!

What is your vision for the Construction Services team?

My priority is to continue enhancing our multidisciplinary services and to establish our team as the go-to choice to provide a managed resource for contractors and developers. Our ultimate vision is to improve work-winning and delivery outcomes for our clients across the UK and further afield.

How would you describe Bridgehead Consultancy in three words?

Agile. Dynamic. Flexible.

What is the best piece of career advice you’ve ever been given?

Work hard, and if needs be pedal harder.

What are your interests outside work?

Pond swimming, cycling, walking and running. Reading geopolitics and modern history. Following West Ham United home and away with my daughter.
