What has been your career path to this point?
I started my career in bids at Mitie back in 2010 – 16 years ago now! – and I’ve never really looked back. The bid world definitely isn’t for everyone; I think you either love it or hate it. Luckily, I love it and seem to thrive on the last-minute requests, tight deadlines and general organised chaos that comes with it!
What does your job involve on a day-to-day basis?
The most important thing for me is keeping our clients happy. At the beginning of the week, I look at where we are with each client, what we have on the list and what needs to be prioritised.
No two days are the same. One minute we could be completing SQs or RFIs, the next developing tender responses or expressions of interest for a new opportunity, the next reviewing a proposal… There is always something going on!
What is the best thing about your role?
There is something very satisfying about pressing the final send/submit button on a tender – especially after weeks of hard work!
But the best part has to be when one of our clients wins the work or progresses to the next stage. That’s when we know all the effort has paid off and we’ve done our job well. I also really enjoy seeing my team develop, grow in confidence and, most importantly, enjoy what they do.
What is most challenging?
Getting all the information we need from busy SMEs before the deadline! Anyone who works in bids will understand the challenge of the polite reminder… followed by another polite reminder… and possibly another one!

As Director of Proposals, what is your vision for the future of Bridgehead’s work-winning services?
Ultimately, I want our work-winning services to continue supporting the growth of Bridgehead and, importantly, the growth of our clients.
Since I joined Bridgehead in January 2025, we’ve come a very long way. A big part of this has been building strong, long-term relationships with clients who trust us to become an extension of their own teams. The fact that clients continue to come back to us is something I’m really proud of.
Looking ahead, I want us to keep growing the team and our capabilities while holding on to the personal, flexible approach that our clients value. For me, success isn’t just about helping a client submit a bid – it’s about becoming their trusted work-winning partner, helping them secure opportunities and growing their business.
How would you describe Bridgehead Consultancy in three words?
Fun. Challenging. Collaborative.

What is the best piece of career advice you’ve ever been given?
My dad has always said to me: “Just keep doing what you’re doing, and life will take you where you need to be.”
It’s simple advice, but it has always stuck with me – and so far, I think he’s been right!
What are your interests outside work?
I love spending quality time with my family. My mum is a big priority for me at the moment, and I love holidays with my husband and daughter – whether that’s heading off to Egypt or a UK caravan park – as well as trips to the park and completely random road trips!
A lot of my spare time is also spent on long walks with my dog, Pugsie. And when I get some quiet time, you’ll probably find me reading a good book in a bubble bath with a nice glass of vino!

What would your theme tune be?
Perfect, by Ed Sheeran. It was our wedding song, so it will always be a special one for me.
